Preparation
Put on the headset, open the Library, and download Meta Horizon Hyperscape Capture.

Start a New Capture
Select Create New and follow the on-screen instructions. It is recommended not to exceed 30 minutes per capture, as longer sessions can result in very large files and extended processing times.
Scanning Process
The app will guide you through up to three scans:
First Scan – Quick Scan
This scan maps the general shapes and boundaries of the environment. You will see blue triangles appear as you move around. Ensure all surfaces are covered.

Second Scan – Detailed Scan
This is the most important step. During this scan, you will be “removing” the blue triangles by carefully scanning objects from multiple angles.
Move slowly and get as close and as far as necessary to capture details accurately. This may include crouching to scan under tables or standing on tiptoes to capture higher surfaces.
Avoid touching objects while scanning. Be aware that moving elements, such as TVs or monitors that are turned on, may appear distorted in the final result.
Third Scan – Boundary Check (Optional)
This is a quick scan to confirm ceiling and floor boundaries. It is optional and not mandatory.
Processing
Once the scan is complete, initial processing will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Make sure the headset is connected to a power source and keep it on during this time to prevent interruptions due to low battery.
Final Computation
After the initial processing, the project will appear as completed, and you may rename it. However, it will not be accessible immediately.
The system requires an additional ~8 hours to compute and finalize all the captured data. During this stage, it is safe for the headset to turn off or enter sleep mode.
Accessing the Scene
The following day, you can open the Hyperscape app and view your fully processed scene.
Note that the scene can only be accessed within the headset. The file is stored on Meta’s cloud, and you will not have access to the original raw file or be able to export it for use outside the Meta ecosystem.
